I left my Airbnb and headed into Fort Pierce, excited to resume attending Sunday worship at Common Ground Vineyard Church in Fort Pierce, and was heartened to be remembered by some of the members of the congregation. When the service started, I was saddened to learn that Pastor Brian was no longer there and that the new pastor, Pastor Rodney, had been installed sometime in the early spring.
I was assured that the Wednesday night Bible studies were still happening, so I look forward to attending that later this week.
.
I returned to my airbnb in St. Lucie and worked all afternoon (ok, honestly, I started binging a new series, The Black Doves on Netflix, doing some intermittent work between episodes), then picked up Chipotle for dinner.
Nothing exciting or earth-shattering, but hey, I survived the day!

I checked out of the airbnb, stopped at Home Depot to buy yet another lock (how do I keep losing locks for my gym lockers?), then made my way back to the YMCA of the Treasure Coast, where I did Jon’s assigned workout, as well as got in my one hour of swim time.
I was tired, so tired, but that is the natural consequence of slacking off and not completing my workouts consistently.
I spent part of the afternoon at the Blake Library (in Stuart), then went to dinner at Carmela’s Pizza for dinner, opting for a big serving of broccoli (are you reading this, Jon?) and fusilli pasta with shrimp, artichokes, spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes in a light cream sauce. I could only eat about 1/2 the pasta dish before I was full, but I really enjoyed that broccoli side dish (it was a lightly seasoned but deliciously flavorful blend of garlic, lemon and some sort of broth).
It was another reminder that I need to figure out how to have more cruciferous vegetables every day. (I’m supposed to have two servings of cruciferous vegetables every day, which has been really hard on the boat with limited fridge/freezer space.)
I’m heading back to Fort Pierce, and while its only a short drive from here, I wanted one more night of solitude, so I stopped early and overnight at the Martin County Rest Area (NB, mile 106)

When I woke up, I lounged for a while, then headed back to Fort Pierce, where I spent the first couple hours in the library working and connecting (via Google Meet) with the ladies from my Tuesday Bible Study Group.
I spent the afternoon hanging out at the boat, then Paul and I went to Wasabi Thai Sushi for dinner.
I walked, Paul scootered. I keep trying to tell him he could use all the free time in his retirement to turn to a life of crime as a scooter bandit. He decided against it….. probably for the best. 😂😜

I’ve settled back into a routine, including morning walks. I took a long walk this morning, crossing the bridge and exploring Hutchinson Island. Once I returned, I spent a quiet afternoon on the boat, then Paul and I had dinner at Lorenzo’s, though I had to scoot out early for Wednesday night bible study at Common Ground Church.

I had a slow start to the morning, but was up and on the road right around 10:30 a.m.
I’m head ing over to Destin to spend a few days with my friend Sabina.
I checked the weather, and it’s a bit cooler on that side, but still nothing to complain about! And, as always, I enjoy my time on the road.
I stopped once lunch at Chicken Salad Chicks (I’m addicted to their cookies!), then again for a few hours of work at the Columbia County Public Library in Lake City, Florida.
Since I’m working hard to “stop and smell the roses”, I’m opting to move at leisurely pace. All that to say, I stopped partway on my drive, overnighting at I-10 Westbound rest stop in Monticello, FL.

I was up early- around 3:00 a.m., so I decide to get back on the road to Destin. However, after about an hour or so, I decided I was tired (probably because I had the heat cranked and was overly warm), so I pulled over at the I-10 WB rest stop outside Tallahassee, where I slept for another 3-4 hours.
Once I was up and around (for real this time), it was a straight shot to Destin, and I arrived tn the mid-afternoon.
As always, it was great to see Sabina, and after visiting for a while, she suggested that we head a few minutes down the road to Crystal beach, a well-known and popular beach, known for its picturesque stretch of sugar-white sand and emerald waters.

I got my mind blown today! Pimissa (Sabina’s son) works for Apple, and he was kind enough to spend about 30-45 minutes showing me a bunch of the features of my Mac & iPhone that I didn’t know existed. Sometimes, I don’t feel very tech savvy, (and frankly, I’m wondering how much I will remember in 24 hours), but oh my gosh- I was so excited… I kept clapping my hands like a kid and saying “Show me more!” 😂
If you haven’t had a chance to look at the new Apple Intelligence features, they are definitely worth checking out!
Beyond that excitement, Sabina and I spent a few hours doing Splankna work, which I am so, so grateful for!
Yay for healing!
