Spotlight: landm_artistry

I met Leah of LandM_artistry in July 2019 when one of my sisters convinced me that I should run a 5k with her. (If that isn’t sibling abuse, I don’t know what is…)

I am not a runner.  I hate running. I will run after the ice cream truck and AWAY from serial killers, but otherwise…. Nah.

In any case, in a moment of weakness, I agreed to run the Bear Paw 5k with my sister, and when the fateful day arrived months later, I showed up unprepared. I had on running shoes (at least I *think* they were running shoes), and the Costco brand of wool socks that I wear year-round. (Judge me, I don’t care- they are comfortable and my feet are always warm!) Apparently, those are NOT the appropriate kind of socks to wear running… Bianca made a phone call to her friend Leah, and Leah was kind enough to bring me a pair of socks so I could run more comfortably (it did NOT help improve my race time).  That was our first meeting.

The second meeting was as teammates for the 2021 #WinterScavenge hunt that six of us decided to do together in February 2021. (Maybe I’ll talk about that experience in a different post, maybe not).

However, I have digressed… The important part of this monologue is this:

During a brief lull as the competition wound to completion, we were hanging around in my kitchen and she asked about what I used my giant shed for and mentioned her own workshop.  I asked what she used her workshop for and she shared her passion for acrylic paints.  I asked to see some of her work and she shared her IG with me.

I loved what I saw, so I am sharing it with you as my Spotlight!

Leah describes herself as “Just an Alaska girl pouring paints, making art for others to enjoy.” She makes original acrylic paint pours and every piece is an original work of art.  Even better, the art pictured on her IG is for sale.  So stop by her IG (or FB), check it out, and pick out something you love. (Treat yo’self!).

Every canvas is a journey all its own.
