Slowing Down

Slowing down is often a challenge for me. I tend to have so many thoughts spinning through my head and too many commitments (my own fault). Consequently I find myself juggling too much and accomplishing far less than I intend or desire as a result.

I am grateful for baby Geo. We ran errands together one weekend and he was feeling fiercely independent, so I let him walk almost everywhere, holding my hand.

Two days later, the soreness lingered. Moving slowly, keeping pace with tiny, toddler steps, taught me so much!

  1. I noticed so much more when I was moving slowly. I had the time and attention to truly take in what was happening around me. I reveled in the experience.
  2. I was forced to slow down and live in THAT. EXACT. MOMENT., and I enjoyed every minute of it.
  3. I had the best workout I’ve had in a long time- all as a result of being slow and deliberate, rather than fast & furious.

Are you fast and furious as you hurtle through life? If so, what slows you down? Please briefly share what gift or experience reminded you to slow down and savor life, moment by moment.
