12/7, All Saints Episcopal Church Duncan, OK (9:30 am?)Â
(10/11/2022 labyrinth lessons – Knowing)Â
Â
I woke early at our airbnb (Billie’s Place) Â in Duncan and went for a run. Â It was cool (quite brisk, really) and I underestimated how long it would take for me to warm up as I ran. A few minutes into my run, I decided it was TOO early and TOO cold to run without another layer or two, so I quickly looped back to our airbnb to spend some time writing instead of running..
When Andrew and Mikayla woke, we enjoyed a quick breakfast, packed up, and headed out, stopping at the All Saints Episcopal Church of Duncan, OK so I could walk their labyrinth. Unfortunately, it was more than 1/2 covered in inches thick piles of leaves. Which was really disappointing, since we (meaning me) chose Duncan as part of the route and the halfway point SPECIFICALLY so I could walk the labyrinth.
I tried kicking away the piles of leaves and clearing the path as I walked, but it just wasn’t coming together.
Then, <BOOM>, it hit. Â A single revelation.Â
This labyrinth walk occurred on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021
Location: All Saints Episcopal Church in Duncan, OK at approximately 9:30 a.m.
You already know the path by heart Â
The current ‘trendy’ acronym is IYKYK (If you know, you know). Â Regardless of how you say it, the message was clear: Â We need to recognize that sometimes we just “know” the right thing to do. Â Whether that’s intuition, gut instinct, or something else entirely, our ‘knowing’ can guide us when logic and reason fail us.
At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.
