Labyrinth Lessons – Close That Door

May 8, 2022, around 3:10 p.m. The snow from the neighborhood cul-de-sac labyrinth had melted away and the anonymous neighbor who touched up the paint every year had refreshed the lines.

It seemed as good a time as any to get out and walk the neighborhood labyrinth- as I had been doing with fervor, searching for answers.

And you wanna know what I heard? Here’s what I heard:

What you’re looking for isn’t here (anymore)

Heavy sigh- Suffice it to say, I have a lot of frustration and still no answers.
It was made clear that doors were closing and it was time to move forward, and move on from the life I had been living.

In hindsight, I can see that it was a pivotal time for me. Since that time, I have quit my job (after 26 years with the same company), closed my bed & breakfast, sold my home and begun traveling.  Though Alaska remains home, my journey to a new life and purpose continues.

That’s my revelation – what’s yours?

Are you staying in a place and space that no longer serves you? If so, why? Comfort and familiarity are common excuses. Pride and ego are two other common causes. Fear of change is another. Whatever the excuse reason, identify and acknowledge it, then decide it will no longer dictate how you live.  After all, you already know that what you’re looking for isn’t where you are- so MOVE.
